About The Masterclass
Fastenings in tailored jackets and coats are usually not only functional, but part of the design. In couture they can be used to great effect, often ingeniously combined with other techniques.
On this masterclass you will explore the different types of closures from the totally inconspicuous edge to edge fastening with hooks and eyes, covered press studs or fly front to the highly decorative frogging.
The classic closure with buttons and buttonholes is covered with the traditional hand embroidered buttonhole, the seam buttonhole, as well as bound buttonholes in 3 different variations. Covering a plain and singleton button by hand is part of this masterclass.
Also explored is the making and covering of different belts and buckles by hand.
Length: near 4 hours
