About The Masterclass

Pockets in Haute Couture tailoring are usually more decorative than utilitarian and there is a myriad of different styles from invisible to design statements. On this absolutely unique and extremely detailed masterclass you learn to create 14 different types of pockets.

Starting with the completely inconspicuous seam pocket, the double jetted pocket, flap pocket with or without jets and the welt pocket, this section covers all the classic pockets originating in gent’s tailoring.  

The second part explores sporty pockets such as the patch pocket in all their variations with or without a cut-on flap, with a separate flap, pleated or bellow style. 

The last section deals with pockets that are incorporated in the design and cut of the garment i.e. pockets seamed between panels or where part of the pocket section, such as patch or flap, form part of garment panels.

Evaluation

Once you have completed the course you can contact us for personalised feedback and an evaluation. You must have watched all videos and produced your own work following the tuition. We will make an assessment and if you have met the learning outcomes, we will issue a certificate.
